Nails Did: UP

Orly Snowcone + China Glaze Papaya Punch + China Glaze Custom Kicks + China Glaze Happy Go Lucky + OPI Who The Shrek Are You? + Missha PK104 + CND Effects Sapphire Sparkle

I decided to let my friend Justin pick my nail color a couple nights ago. He suggested orange dots over a blue polish, and I happily obliged, even though it didn't look so great when I was done. The orange dots looked really diseased over the blue, so I decided to add different colored dots. I'm pretty happy with the results--colors fix everything! I should have left it at that, but I added CND Effects Sappire Sparkle on top. The glittery blue sheen takes away from the rainbow awesomeness in my opinion.

This reminded me of Disney-Pixar's UP and all the bazillion trillion balloons against the blue sky.

WDYWT: Then && Again

Taking self portraits is really hard. Bleh.

I had these Dunks lying around since the makeup look I did last week. Nothing new--I just decided to show them some love since they haven't seen daylight in forever.
I remember finding them at Foot Action back when I started getting into sneakers. I was so bummed because they were the last ones left, and they're half a size smaller than what I usually wear. I wanted to make it work, so I bought them anyway. I stretched them out and now they fit like a charm. Win.

KICKStory: Air Jordan VII

Jordan Retro VII GS
Mineral Blue/ Bright Violet/

A bit of history kickstory on the Jordan VII's...
Tinker Hatfield drew inspiration from a variety of sources when designing Jordans. The designs on the Jordan VII's can be attributed to the Nike Huarache basketball shoe line, as well as West African Tribal culture. All of the lines on the shoe were drafted into this design by African tribal patterns that Hatfield encountered on a poster, while on a trip in Portland. This model is also known as the "Hares" since Bugs Bunny played an essential role in promoting the shoe.

Some notable moments in the Jordan VII's:
-Michael Jordan wore the Olympic-inspired version of the VII as he led the "Dream Team" to a Gold Medal at the 1992 summer games in Barcelona. That pair featured the number 9 on the heel, reflecting MJ's jersey number on Team USA.
-MJ won his sixth straight scoring title while wearing the AJ VII and was again named first team All-NBA, first team All-Defense and an All-Star for the seventh consecutive time. He was voted league MVP for the second straight year and won his second NBA Championship ring and Finals MVP with the Bulls.

WDYW @ It's JDM Yo?!

My friend Lehrick decided to rock his Adidas Roundhouses yesterday while I decided to go with my Jordan Retro 7's. I usually don't wear tights with my kicks, but I forgot to pack jeans for the weekend, and I didn't want to be squatting (to take pictures) all day with shorts. Don't know how it happened but I managed to scuff them up! *sad face.

It's JDM Yo!

It's JDM Yo! 1 Year Anniversary Meet went down yesterday in Cerritos. Lots of hella flush and cambered out rides... that's something you don't see everyday. The stand outs to me personally were the old school GTR and the Subie with the sweet fog lights. Also gotta love the Cube with the heart exhaust tip haha.

I had the hardest time trying to get decent shots. It was so bright and sunny outside that a lot of the pictures came out harsh. The lighting inside the warehouse wasn't any better, due to dim lighting and the glare from overhead lights. As usual, I posted my favorite shots above, but all pictures can be found here. I had to switch to Picasa Albums because my Flickr account is going to cut me off soon.

Nails Did: Punchy Fingertips with China Glaze Papaya Punch

China Glaze Papaya Punch

I'm rather disappointed that this color didn't show up true to the color in the bottle. It's a bit more orange on the nail (it's lighter and more yellow in the bottle), and the consistency was really thick. Not sure if it's the polish or if I got a bad bottle, but I'll have to grab some thinner when I go home this weekend.

I'm sure there are a plethora of swatches for this color already, but I didn't have time to do anything too creative on my nails this week. Biology and Physics midterms were really bogging me down, so I had to stay on my grind.

Cars and Coffee is a weekly meet that goes down every Saturday morning. It starts at 6am and runs until about 9am, and tons of drivers show up to show off their rides.
Last night, I found out that Ken Block was going to be there! (To see why Ken Block is so awesome, check the video above. He's now rollin` with a Ford Fiesta instead of a Subaru STI, but he's still killin` it!) I was so excited to meet him and get his autograph and tell him that he has the coolest job ever BUT... that never happened. I set my alarm super early to make sure that I would get there in time, but I totally slept through it. I had a biology midterm review session last night, that ran from 5pm to 9pm, and I guess it took a lot more out of me than I had expected.
Anyway, I put on some kicks and showed up in my favorite sweats at around 8am, even though some of the cars had already left. I thought Ken Block had already left so I didn't bother looking for him. Not to mention, I was distracted by all the cars! Turns out he was there though, just blended in by the many car enthusiasts that had attended. I'm so bummed, totally can't believe I missed the opportunity to meet him.

A bit of everything can be found at Cars and Coffee--classics, exotics, imports, American muscle, bikes, etc. I'm usually not too interested in exotics, because they're usually just all the same--stock, but really fancy and nice to look at. The red and blue Porsche Carrera from today was something different though; I think the red accents go with the blue rather nicely, and it's cool that the owner did his own thing. The red Nissan Z was cool too. It's not the first time I've seen it, but it's one of my favorites so I had to get more shots of it. It's crazy to see how much the Z has evolved over the years.
All of my shots from today can be found on my Flickr. Enjoy!
