Nails Did: Concord 11's

It's the last day of 2011!!!!!
I wanted to close off the year with one last sneaker nail design, so here's a set featuring the Jordan Concord 11's--the biggest sneaker release of the year. (Sneaker pictures courtesy of Atlanta Got Sole since I didn't make the cop myself!)

Vegas: Basin White

Basin White is a bath and body care store located inside the Venetian. It's similar to LUSH in the sense that they have bath bombs, soaps and shampoo/face cleanser bars, but I like Basin White better because their products actually smell good! I think LUSH is overhyped, because my nose wants to explode everytime I smell one of their products. It's so bad that I can't even bring myself to try them out and see what all the hype is about.

I loved the clean, friendly atmosphere of Basin White. They had samples everywhere so you could really test/smell/sample their stuff. The staff was really nice and helpful too.

These scrubs are amazing! The Satsuma one smells so good. They let us sample some at the store, and our hands felt freakishly soft after. My aunt got a tub of this stuff because we were sold with the demo.

They had the cutest soaps! I picked up a couple of souvenirs for my friends here, as well as a Satsuma Solid Moisturizer for myself (:

Old Lady Glamour

For this mani, I used one coat of Skin Food Fruit Nail Drink #8 over China Glaze Mrs. Claus (repeated 2x).

Skin Food Fruit Nail Drink #8 is one of the jellies from the Skin Food nail polish line. I liked it best out of all the colors I swatched at the store, but it's so dark that doesn't layer as well as I wanted it to, and it doesn't look like your typical "squishy" jelly. I think I'm gonna have to go back for the orangey peach one.

Holiday Spirit

Nails Did: Adidas Originals x Fafi Ecstasy High

I'm back with another sneaker/nails match-up! I know it's been a while, so I really wanted to go all out. This is how I did my nails to go with the sneakers I wore to Sneakercon. I chose to go with my Fafinette Ecstasys cause I figured everyone would be rocking Jordans and I wanted to be different haha. Anyway, the shoe has a lot of details that I wanted to make note of, so I tried to incorporate a little bit of everything into the design. What do you guys think?

From the Vault: Skin Food Party Tox #3

Skin Food Party Tox #3

I recently discovered a Skin Food store that opened at a local mall near me!!!!
Although Skin Food is most popular for their BB creams, they also have a wide range of cosmetics--from skincare and haircare, to makeup and nail polish! I wasn't intending on buying anything when I first entered the store, but they had testers of everything out! After swatching this color, I couldn't resist picking it up for myself (:

For the swatch above, I used 3 coats of Party Tox #3. It's a black jelly immersed with silver holographic glitters that dance in the light. On my nails, the black jelly turns up as a brownish taupe color. It's very unexpected, but it makes this shade extremely wearable (which is why I couldn't help but pick it up)!

Custom Painted Nissan 350Z x Essence Where Is the Party?

Alright, so this post is gonna be a mash up of two of my favorite things... cars and nail polish!!!!!

Check out the sick paint job on this 350Z...

This car was one of the rides at Autocon. It had the coolest paintjob out of all the cars there! I instantly wanted a nail polish this color, but then I remembered having a similar one--Essence Where Is the Party!
Where Is the Party has been sitting in my pile of untrieds since forever, but after seeing this Nissan, I felt the need to finally try it out!

This is one coat of Essence Where Is the Party layered over two coats of Zoya Midori.

Where Is the Party is a dupe of OPI Not Like the Movies, in addition to Wet n Wild Grey's Anatomy. It's a greyish purple and green duochrome, although the purple is mostly dominant. I wanted the green to be more apparent on my nails, which is why I layered this polish over a bright green color. The green shows up a lot better in the shade, because the purple completely takes over in sunlight (and at most angles!).

Where Is the Party is really opaque--I was actually worried that the green wouldn't make a difference. Since this is my first time trying out the polish, I'm not sure how it's supposed to look like without the green underneath. But judging from the pictures, I'd say that the layering did have some effect.

Even though it went on a bit streaky, Where Is the Party evened itself out after I applied a top coat. It's an excellent polish for only $0.99!

Oh, and on a side note, I think there's some crazy ESP going on between me and Jenni Lee of I Relish Nail Polish! Right after I took pictures of my current polish, I saw her post on pretty much the same color! If you haven't done so already, be sure to check out her swatch of Wet n Wild Grey's Anatomy (:

Starry Night Overseas

This is Kleancolor Blue Eyed Girl layered over Rimmel Midnight Blue.

Midnight Blue is a super dark blue that appears black under most lights, but you can tell that it's blue under sunlight. Blue Eyed Girl is a blue jelly with tons of chunky hexagon and tiny circle glitters. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be scented, but I'm sure that I smelled grape after using Blue Eyed Girl!

The two polishes make for an awesome combo! It's just something I came up with for a quick polish change, but I ended up liking it a lot more than I thought I would. Yay for unexpected surprises!

Over the past few days, there were times where I couldn't help but stare at my nails. They're so shiny and the blues look so awesome! I kept getting compliments from strangers too.

This is my third day wearing this combo. No chips yet, although my tips are starting to wear out.

Car Feature: Mazda RX-7

Check out this super clean RX-7!
This car gets its own post for being my favorite car from Autocon (:

It doesn't scream for attention by being ridiculously crazy, but it's an eye catcher nonetheless.

So sleek and sexy... it's hard not to admire!

Right-hand drive in the States?! Too legit.

The immaculate detail from the interior to the side mirrors to the engine... this car is seriously to die for.

Autocon 2011

Automotive Connection, O.C. Great Park

Autocon was this past Saturday!!!! Since I missed out on SEMA and HIN due to midterms and finals, this was an event I was really looking forward to.
Anyway, you can find all the pictures I took here
I challenged myself to take pictures of all the cars since it's something I normally don't do... Some of them were omitted from the album because the exposure settings that day were terrible and lots of shots were just junk. Otherwise, I got most of the cars at the event (:

My favorite shot of the day! I had a lot of trouble editing all the pictures because I usually don't post-process much, and the pictures from this event needed a LOT of work. Anyhow, I love how this one turned out. I remember waiting for the owner of this Beamer to close the trunk so I could get my perfect shot, but he was taking forever so I was like... screw it.

All the cars sponsored by Prestige Marketing met up at my friend's place before rolling out to the show. I'm sure it was quite a sight seeing this trail of cars cruising down the road!

Rudolph Silvia!!!! Definitely one of the coolest rides out there that day.

The `stache looks really fitting on this Mercedes.

There were so many clean rides... like this Civic!

Angry Mercedes be angry.

Cookie Monster!!!!
