Adidas Originals Superstar
This is one of the last pairs of Adidas Originals that I've picked up in a really, really long time. I think I'm falling out of love for their sneakers, they haven't been making them like they used to :(
Brands develop and change all the time--sometimes for better, sometimes for worse. Are there any brands you've been falling out of love with lately, sneakers/polish/other-wise?

That sucks! I never wore those sneakers (or much Adidas really) but I understand. I feel like Puma's sneakers generally have become narrower in width in the past five years.
@ Rach: Yess!!! I really want to pick up a blue pair of the classic suede Puma, but it's another pair that's been altered with the 'sleek' theme going on for women. I hope the phase dies out and we get our classics back soon.
This phase NEEDS TO DIE because I love Pumas so much (I wouldn't have made it through college without them!).
I posted this pic of Pumas that matched a polish I blogged about in January: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7029/6734347381_49ff8d1861.jpg
I can't remember the name of these sneakers, but I found them in the men's section at the Puma outlet store in Williamsburg, VA last fall. I only bought them because they were SUPA CHEAP and I don't wear them as much as I'd like to because they are so. cotdam. narrow.
P.S. Your blog is so dangerous because although I'm not a sneakerhead, I didn't realize how much I missed them until now! :-P I love it.
I have some polish brands that I don't think I fell out of love with, but I think I just bought all of the colors I like already and they haven't released new collections. For example, the Sally Hansen Salon line.
I also have a shoe store where I used to love everything and lately it's all crap. Oh, Charlotte Russe too. I can't shop at Charlotte Russe anymore.
I use to wear converses all the time, but they are a little to narrow now for me. So although I love them I don't wear them as often anymore. Flip flops and flats are all I wear now, which makes me sad. I miss my converses!
I know what you mean even though I can't think of a specific example off hand. seeing posts like this make me wish I had more sneakers, but I have such gigantic feet it's hard to find them in my size... =/
i never thought id see the day when you'd say you're falling out of love oer adidas originals! :D
hm, i think right now im falling IN love, not out :D
@ rach: omg i had no idea they were doing it with mens models too! it's just another trend imo, i hope it fades out soon so we can get our classics back!! btw, your puma match up is on point (;
@ kat: omggg i hate when that happens!! i have a couple stores like that too, it makes me sad to have to find a new place =[
@ jennifer: aww bummers! did you still keep them?
@ kaki: lol i actually wish i had bigger feet sometimes so that i could fit into the mens sizes :D
@ kumi: ahhh ikr! it's just the sneakers though, their apparel is still sick!
I think this 'slim' trend also has something to do with economics: by shaving 1/4" off the width, the shoe manufacturers save money on the materials and keep the price point where people will actually buy the product. I think that unless the cost of raw materials goes down we'll continue to see this 'slim' trend and have the shoes made with cheaper, less durable materials for the same price. It's a shame that shoe companies have made profit their bottom line as opposed to quality.
I never liked shelltops, the shell part always turned yellow and it was ugly...
@ ana: you know i totally didn't think about how it plays in with the economy, but you have a really valid point. i've heard about the quality of jordans going downhill, but jordan brand gets a lot of hype compared to other brands.
@ cee: i'm not too big on shell toes either but i had to get these one because the stripes are interchangeable haha!
Speww white leggz.
@ anon: i can't help that i'm so paleeee :P
