Strike a Pose

Today I'll be sharing a swatch of Essie Camera. This particular polish was on my wishlist for a very long time because it's a vibrant jelly, and I love the name, being the hobbyist photographer that I am! (:

Essie Camera

Shown above is two easy coats topped with Seche Vite. I did experience some bubbling, but I'm quite certain that it's my fault, and the formulation of the polish isn't to blame! What do you think of this jelly?

Now I usually like to keep my posts as on-topic as possible because I tend to like that in other blogs, but since this post is along the lines of photography, I thought I'd share some highlights from my cruise. Hit the jump if you'd like to see them (:

Our first stop was Juneau, Alaska. Russian culture is really big over there!

We went on a dog-sled excursion, and it was the coolest thing ever!
When I first heard about it, I felt bad for the dogs... but on the tour, we learned that the dogs love what they do and they can definitely handle it, too! Don't let looks deceive you--they're built small because they're meant to run long distances (similar to long distance track runners), but each dog is capable of pulling 1000 lbs! Before we set off, the dogs were so excited that they kept jumping up and down! It was so cute.

Look at the precious puppies we got to play with!

Beautiful Juneau as we cruised away.

Our second destination in Alaska was Skagway. We took the White Pass and Yukon Route railroad to see the amazing sights.

Before heading to our final destination in Alaska, we went through Glacier Bay. It was so beautiful, I wish I had a wide-angle lens to capture it better!

And finally, here's Ketchikan:

The smoked Sockeye salmon was SO good! It's a type of salmon that doesn't eat other fish (it's vegetarian!) so that contributes to its unique chemistry and taste.

Before heading back to the States, we stopped in Victoria, B.C. The flowers were so pretty there! I wish I had more time to photograph them all.

After our ship got back, we spent a day in Seattle. Let me tell you--one day isn't enough! There's so much to see/do/taste/experience there!

The view from the Space Needle.

The famous Pike's Place Market...

On the walk back to our hotel, there was a lady sharing her snakes!

Aaaaand that's my very quick overview! Thank you for looking (:

OMG I need to go on that cruise! I've been wanting to go on an Alaskan cruise for the longest but cruises would have to wait until the Munch gets a little older...

Camera looks awesome on you, it's very vibrant and I don't know why it looks like you had a gradient on your nails (or maybe it's just me, I dunno)

That is a very pretty polish! I like the mini camera (earing?), too! I don't mind the off topic pictures. They were a lot of fun (I like the picture of the puppy that is half way through a yawn :) )

Your photos actually make me want to visit Alaska! The puppies are so cute! I love that jelly... your title makes me think of Madonna's 'Express Yourself' video. 'Camera' pops on your skin tone!

Amazing, amazing photos--it looks like an incredible trip! You really have a great eye for colour composition.

And how cute is Camera?! I've had it sitting in my untrieds all summer. Way past time for me to do something about that. ;)
