Helen Discoball

Spoiled by Wet n Wild Checkin' Into Rehab + Spoiled by Wet n Wild Trust Fund Baby

One day, my 6 year old cousin told me that she changed her name to Helen Discoball. Her favorite colors are purple, pink, blue, and black, so this polish combo reminded me of her (:

Savini Meet

I was so excited about Hot Import Night that I totally forgot to share these pics from the Savini meet, which took place a week prior to HIN.
Can you tell I really liked that Civic SI? (:

Strawberry Syrup

PA Nail Color AA19

I always feel obliged to take a bazillion pictures of anything and everything holographic.
It's like I need to capture every aspect of its rainbow spectrum, because simply one shot wouldn't do it justice!
Anyway, here's 3 coats of AA19 topped with Seche Vite. It looks milky in the bottle, but it's actually a jelly! With plentiful holographic hexagons suspended in the rose-colored base, this polish is pretty much a jelly sandwich in a bottle (:

Spring is Here, Spring is Here!

Color Club Rebel Debutante

I had the sudden caprice to paint my nails this color because of fellow sneaker aficionado, Yani (one of the coolest sneaker fiends I've ever met)! He suggested painting my nails a pastel green for the first day of Spring, so I decided to rock this shade.

I used two coats of Rebel Debutante in the pictures above. It's a bright, pastel green creme that's perfect for Spring. I thought it was going to be a dusty shade from the looks of the bottle, but it's a lot more vivid on my nails.
My polish was a bit thick, so I had some slight trouble with application. I'm not sure if the consistency was a fluke due to my particular bottle, but it's nothing that thinner can't fix!

It's kind of weird seeing a bright creme on me since I've been into nothing except jellies as of late, but it's a nice change. I'm definitely ready for brighter hues, how about you? (:

Man, I Feel Like Money $$$$

NYX Girls NGP 179 Alaskan Wild + American Apparel Glitter Meteor Shower

Flakies have been floating amongst nail blogs a lot recently, but have you seen gold ones yet?!
This gold flakie polish is actually one that my bestie picked out for me. We were kickin` it in Little Tokyo one day, when we decided to check out American Apparel. I found two polishes that caught my eye right away, but I needed a third one for their promo (they run for $6 each, or 3 for $15). I totally looked over this one because I thought it was just your average gold glitter polish, but it actually consists of gold flakies! Frikkin bomb.

Anyway, here's one coat of Meteor Shower layered over Alaskan Wild. For one coat, the density of the flakies ain't bad--it's enough to give my tips a kick, but still sparse enough for the base color to stand out. I used one layer of NYC Grand Central Station for a toap coat and it was relatively smooth, but there were a couple of random shards that poked through and needed a second coat.

I freaking love this polish. Lots of brands have been coming out with flakies that shift colors, but I haven't stumbled across any like this one yet. I love how big the flakies are too :D

Mint Fresh

Nike SB Dunk Mid Mint/Sea Crystal

One of my latest pick-ups include these SB Dunk Mids.

This pair features an aqua suede upper with black tumbled leather. There's not too much going on--just a super fresh colorway to welcome the spring season and the warmer months ahead! The airy feel of the aqua color scheme is balanced nicely by the black tumbled leather, which adds a kind of substance to the sneaker. It makes them more versatile, in my opinion.

This is my first pair of SB's and I love how comfortable they feel on my feet. Unlike the conventional Mids, these don't come with a strap. That factor may be a dealbreaker for some; however, it wasn't a big deal for me since I'm diggin` the colorway regardless!

Hot Import Night 03/10/12

Okay, here's my last post regarding Hot Import Night. It was super tiring being there all day, but I had a blast checking out all the different rides that showed up!

Peep the entire album here!
And if you haven't done so already, be sure to check out my favorite Supra, Porsche 911 and 350Z from the event! :D

I like this car. I can't put my finger on exactly what, but I just do.

Haha... deuces!

Car Feature: N0T FAST Supra

Saving the best for last, here's my favorite ride from HIN...

(These next few shots were taken before the car was show ready... don't mind the imperfections haha)

No surprise that it's a Supra--one of my favorite cars of all time! I'm totally diggin` the blue paintjob, color coordinated engine bay, and carbon fiber interior. Not to mention, it's also got right hand drive!!!!! I personally love the stock lights on the Supra, but the LED's on these are sick as well.

After I met the humble owner of this Supra, he shared lots of interesting tidbits about this car.
For instance, it's got the RHD set up because it's originally from Japan--freakin` legit JDM, yo! It's also been across the States and back. The current owner purchased this car from California, brought it over to the east coast, and now it's currently residing in the west.

Getting a chance to speak with two Supra owners has definitely fueled my love for this model, and I'm totally set on getting one in the future *squeeee!* (:

Car Feature: Porsche 911

Do you remember these Nike Vandals? I'm sure they're one of the reasons why I have a predilection for this Porsche. I didn't get a chance to speak with the owner about his ride, but the birch paintjob and pinkish red accents totally reminded me of my kicks! This well done Porsche was one of the few rides that made a lasting impression on me.

Car Feature: Ruined Z

Hot Import Night took place at the Pomona Fairplex this weekend! Before posting my conglomeration of photos from the event, I thought I'd start off by featuring a few rides that particularly caught my interest.

First off is Ruined Z...

Is that a dope paintjob or what?! I was so fortunate to catch the flat grey and blue pearl paintjob before they turned off the lights for the event. Apart from the body work, the owner has also added an intake and exhaust to his 350Z. Most of the work was done on the suspension (but I didn't get details on that).

So... many of you may be wondering, why Ruined Z? Well, apart from that being the actual license plate for this ride, this car has a very interesting backstory...

Basically, Brian (car owner) took his Z to a shop to get some work done, and had one of the shoddiest jobs I've ever heard of! One of the atrocities included the shop owner drilling a bazillion screws to mount the sideskirts and front lip. He also dented the car in various places, messed up the paint so bad in so many ways, and so much more... If you're interested, you can read about all the dirty details and check out the proof in pictures here.

Anyway, news about the wack body work spread like wildfire through car forums, and a different shop owner willingly reached out to help restore Brian's ride. It took about a year to un-do the wrongs of the previous shop, but just look at it now! The second shop even hooked Brian up with this sweet paintjob, which was one of the many brilliant concoctions that the second shop owner had floating in his brain. Unfortunately, I was told they went out of business due to poor money management, but nevertheless--it's good to know that there are people like that out there!

I love happy endings (:

Midnight Reflection

Sinful Colors See You Soon

I picked up this color because I thought the blue shimmer against the blackened teal looked amazing. This polish applied nicely and I do like it, although it's not one of the stand outs of my collection.

I noticed some Japanese(?) on the back of this bottle, makes me wonder if this is actually a Japanese brand?
