That's why her hair is so big... it's full of SECRETS

OPI Big Hair... Big Nails

Shown above is two coats with no top coat... but look how shiny it is! Perfect example of a jelly finish (:

This red shade is pretty typical to me, but I'm gonna hold onto it for layering. Jelly sandwich, anyone? :D

Ultraviolet

Face It BL602

Saving the best for last, here is BL602. It had a really strong blue flash in the bottle, and even though I doubted it would have such an effect on the nails... it did! The resulting color is truly astounding--it's so bright and glowy! It reminds me of the black lights at Chuck-e-Cheese's, or the ones under the lamps at nail salons. This polish definitely made it into my pile of favorites!

Just Peachy

Face It OR202

I think I'm in a peach phase right now, because I've been rockin` lots of peaches and peachy pinks recently!
This peach polish has a green duochrome shimmer that stuck me as very unique, and something I really needed in my collection! It wasn't until I re-examined the bottle later that I found a glowy pink duochrome to it as well. Double win! :D
The green shimmer was very apparent on the nails, although my camera didn't want to capture the exact color with decent exposure. The green is most like the bottle shot in the first picture.
You have to look closely to see the pink duochrome, and it's a fickle color that only makes an appearance in certain lightings and angles.

Most peaches tend to pull pink or orange, but I'd say this is a true peach. I can definitely see this being a staple palate cleanser in my collection!

Princess Peach

This is Face It OR203.

I was so disappointed in this color! In the bottle, it looks like a really bright, shimmery coral, but it translates into a light peach with a foil finish on the nails. It's pretty and wearable, but not what I was expecting. Having expectations can be such a downer sometimes :(

It was very sheer, so I'm definitely going to layer this one in the future. I used two coats in this swatch.

For some reason my camera picked up a yellow duochrome that I can't detect in person. I wonder if it's my external flash/diffuser set up playing tricks on me?

Thanks for looking (:

The Face Shop

Face It OR203, OR202, BL602

I recently discovered a Face Shop store in L.A.!!!!!

The Face Shop is a South Korean brand/retailer known for their cosmetics. I was so stoked to see their little shop in Koreatown, because I had only seen and heard of their products online, and I'm reluctant to purchase cosmetics without seeing them in person first. I didn't want to keep my friend waiting, so I quickly browsed the polish section (I think I'm pretty much over my makeup phase). These are the three polishes that I picked up :D

Swatches coming soon! (:

Dreamy

This is Sally Hansen Frozen Creamsicle topped with a coat of Deborah Lippmann Dream a Little Dream of Me.

Dream a Little Dream of Me is my second Deborah Lippmann polish! I've wanted it ever since I saw it in person, but I couldn't get myself to pay the $16 price tag. That's way over my budget for a single polish!

I managed to get it during a recent drugstore.com promo (: They were giving this particular shade away for free with any purchase, and I was in need of a new eye cream. Timing couldn't have been more perfect!

This polish combo is the most distracting one I've had in a while. The glowy blue shimmer was so eye-catching with the peachy pink that I caught myself staring at my nails plenty of times during the day :P

Quickie

Here's one last mini photoshoot of my friend's 'stang in matte.

We've recently started taking off the Plasti-dip.
It's like removing a peel-off facial from your face, except that it's spread so thin that it keeps breaking off before you can peel off a big section. Rubbing doesn't do much good either, cause it doesn't come off  that easily and your fingers start to get really sore :(

Ichi, Dos, Ba, FOUR

Last weekend marked the release of a pair that I was most excited for! I'd like to introduce you to the newest addition to my family (:

Air Jordan IV GS 'Ultraviolet'

It was quite a shock to see them in person. All the product photos I had seen prior to the release showed the purple to be a lot more blue-based, when it's actually a red-based violet in person. The accents were a signature aspect of this shoe, so the color difference made it seem like an entirely different sneaker!

I really like the balance of colors on these kicks. Just the right amount of purple accents, and the black adds the perfect touch.

I like how the Jumpman's in white--it's a nice contrast with the purple speckles!

I think I'm done with Jordan 4's for this year. It'd be nice to get the Voltage Cherry 4's as well, but I had to pick one and I went for these. These screamed my name when I saw them, and the color-blocking on the Voltage Cherry 4's didn't have the same effect on me.

Dusty

Zoya Neeka + OPI Pirouette My Whistle

I first heard about the OPI New York Ballet collection from Shay of A Thick Girl's Closet. To be honest, I was really indifferent about the soft, sheer colors this collection had to offer, but when the collection actually released and swatches started popping up, Pirouette My Whistle caught my attention! It's not one of the obnoxious glitters that I would normally gravitate towards, but I really like how delicate and pretty it looks over sheer colors.

Since I've seen Pirouette My Whistle layered over so many soft shades, that I was curious to see how it would look over a darker polish, which is how this polish combination came about. I thought the white glitter would complement the dusty tones in Neeka, which is why I paired the two up. What do you guys think? Have you picked up anything from the OPI New York Ballet collection? (:

Strawberry Fields

China Glaze Strawberry Fields

This is two coats of Strawberry Fields. It's a super pretty pink with golden shimmer that reminds me of the beach during sunset. I passed this one up the first time I came across it, but I ended up swapping for it. I'm glad that I did, because it's bright, bold, and the perfect pick-me-up color! :D

Ethereality

American Apparel Smoke Dazzle

This is two coats of Smoke Dazzle topped with Seche Vite. Its first coat was surprisingly sheer, but the second coat made up for it so well that you might catch yourself wondering how the final look turned out so opaque!

At a glance, this polish seems like an uninteresting grey; however, upon closer inspection, you'll notice that there's subtle duochrome that makes this one appear unreal.

Car Feature: Trippiest Infiniti M Ever

It's crazy. Once I think I've seen all there is to see in terms of car paintjobs, another one comes outta nowhere and just blows me off my feet, as if it were shouting "Hey, look at MEEEE!" I want to say that this one tops them all, but that may be just for now!

Anyway, check out the mad paintjob on this Infiniti M on display at Formula D. Whether it's an M35 or M45 I'm not sure, because I need to peek under the hood haha.

From a distance, my first thought was "Whaaaat?! Orange car with a purple bumper? WTF!"

But once I got closer, I realized it was one paintjob. It was so trippy, I thought all the heat and burning rubber fumes finally got to me!

Here's a good shot of how the paint transitions. I think this kind of paintjob would look better on a 350Z or TT, because the rounded design of those two models would shift the colors more seamlessly.

Here's another angle of the hood, with the hood angled downwards.

Looks like a completely different car from the back! This ride must break necks everywhere it goes!

Formula D 2012 Round 1: Streets of Long Beach

Formula Drift kicked off its first round this weekend, and it did not disappoint! I didn't get too many pictures because I wanted to enjoy the drifting to the fullest extent, but you can see the ones I did take below (:

The seats for this event sold out for the first time in history, and the line to get in was insanely long! This was the view of a part of the track from above :D

So many people were buzzing over the new Scion FR-S that I couldn't get a picture without any enthusiasts swarming over it!
