Sour Apple

Julep Leah + China Glaze White Cap

I wanted White Cap for the longest time because of all the awesome layering combos I saw with it, and I was lucky enough to find it in the clearance bin at Ulta one day. How awesome is that!

Here it is, layered over Leah. Looking at my nails makes me want some sour apple candy!

[Sweet] Tart

Pretty & Polished Tart

This is another one of the polishes I picked up from Pretty & Polished. I used two coats, topped with two coats of Seche Vite. I don't think the base color looks too awesome on me, but I love the mixture of glitters suspended in the milky pink-ish purple base! I don't think I could stress how pretty this glitter polish is, so I'll let my pictures do the talking for this one (:

Your Royal Pinkness

Orly It's Not Me, It's You + Wet n Wild Jewels For Your Highness

I managed to find the Wet n Wild Be Jeweled collection at Rite Aid, and I decided to pick up the ones that were left because I heard that some of them were dupes for the China Glaze Prismatic Chroma Glitters collection. I wasn't really feeling the China Glaze collection to begin with, but since the Wet n Wild ones are a fraction of the price, I figured it wouldn't hurt trying them out. I love layering my polishes, and I thought the glitters would make a great addition to my arsenal of layering lacquers!

The one I have to show you guys today is Jewels For Your Highness. I really liked the glowy fuschia glitter, and thought it'd be great paired up with a pink! I wasn't expecting much, but I really loved how it turned out--it's so glowy! The shimmer seemed to transform the base color into a cooler, blue-toned pink, and the multicolored glitter speckles look really cute up close :D

If you have both these polishes (or something similar), I definitely recommend trying out the combo for yourself! It was so hard to capture this combo, so I feel like my pictures don't do it justice!

Purp-eal

PA Nail Color A72 + Milani Jewel FX Lavender

Just a random combo I came up with, because I thought the colors would look awesome together :D
Yeah or naw?

Fafinette

Adidas Ecstasy
'Fafi'

I really like how this shoot turned out, it's my first favorite in a long, long time (: You might recognize these kicks from the nail design I did a while back.

Guest Post on L'Iconoclaste

I know it's been a while since I've done a nail design... it's been really hard finding time to unleash my creativity so I've just been layering a lot recently. I really want to get back to doing some more sneaker match-ups soon, but for the time being, I wanted to share with you some tribal nails I did as a guest post for L'Iconoclaste! Feel free to hit the image above or click here to check it out (:

Indie Train

Etude House VIP Girl BL505 + Pretty & Polished Hello Dolly

Yep, I jumped aboard the indie polish train with my first purchase being from Pretty and Polished! I totally love all the ones I picked up, but I just have one to show you today. You can get a glimpse of how pretty Hello Dolly is in the bottle. It's composed of white, pink, lavender, and holographic glitters of mixed sizes and shapes. I'm dying to layer this over a pale/pastel pink next!

Car Feature: Crystallized Hybrid

This Lexus CT 200h was a huge hit at Motion Auto Show (especially with the ladies!) so I thought it deserved a post of its own.

Meet Goose! The owner Matt named this car after the flying creature because of its white paint job. There's no crazy paintjob on this ride (just the stock white), but this whip is set apart by the real Swarovski crystal accents! Matt meticulously decked out his ride using double stick tape. Surprisingly, none of them have fallen off, even though drives this car and has washed it several times!

I'm not a fan of the VIP style or hybrid cars, but this one really takes the cake. Props to Matt on outshining them all (:

Motion Auto Show 2012

Motion Auto Show is one of the bigger car shows on the west coast, and I finally got to attend it for the first time this past weekend!

Onto the show!

Rainbow Spaz

Layla Ocean Rush

Woohooooo I finally got myself a super linear holo polish! Despite numerous trips to Ulta, I couldn't locate this one in stores when I first heard about it, so I ordered it online... and then saw it in stores after it arrived in the mail. I totally hate when this happens, cause waiting for packages to arrive makes me all antsy haha!

This polish was really weird with my base. I tried it with NailTek Foundation II, and the polish dragged up clumps and I could not get it to work for the life of me. I ended up removing it altogether and using two coats alone, because my base wouldn't work with the polish and I heard that using a top coat dulls the holographic effect.

As for the color, I don't think it's anything spectacular indoors, but when you get it into the sunlight... BAM! It really lights up! I really want to go back for more (:

I got this at my local Ulta. Even though it was pricey, it's not nearly as bad as the China Glaze/OPI DS holos that run for mad prices on Ebay and are really hard to find in general. I definitely recommend printing out an Ulta coupon if you decide to make a trip for these jewels!

Chin Hairs

The Face Shop YL703 + random no name Bon Bons polish

This combo is kinda weird, but I'm kinda weird, so maybe that's why I like it. The stubby bar glitters remind me of my friend's little facial hairs when he doesn't shave for a couple of days... hehe.

Free Falling

I'm not sure when these Nike Blazers came out, because I happened to find them at Nordstrom Rack when I was browsing there one day. I love the print on the side, reminds me of graffiti. Definitely planning on doing a nail match-up with these once I find the time!

Gren Forrest

NYX Girls NGP 179 Alaskan Wild

Here's a color I picked up while polish hunting with the bestie in Little Tokyo. It didn't look completely opaque in the bottle so I had an inkling it was a jelly... and it is!!! An awesome, dark green jelly (:
It's a bit brighter in the sunlight, but here's a swatch of it taken with my external flash + diffuser set up. This is how it looks indoors and in most types of lightings. :D

Oreo Crumbles

Essence White Secret + Lynnderella Connect the Dots

This is two coats of White Secret, followed up with Connect the Dots, another coat of White Secret, and then another coat of Connect the Dots. This combo reminded me so much of cookies and cream that I just had to whip out my good ol' Oreo 6's for photographic purposes (;

Despite its monochromatic color scheme, Connect the Dots is one of the most complex layering polishes I've ever owned! There's black and white bar glitter, small white glitter, white microglitter/shimmer, small white hexagons, large white hexagons, small black squares, and large black squares! I gotta send a quick shout out to Rosalinda of The Lacquer Room for sending me a decant of this extremely hard to get polish, so that I could see what the hype was about for myself. I will be eternally grateful for this lady! (: ♥

Bright Rays, Sunshine Days

Julep Hayden

Here's two coats of Hayden, a super bright, happy, pastel-neon peach/orange creme. It's so bright, it makes my skin look dark--but I like that, because I'm pretty pale haha. I'm so glad I chose to wear this color with short nails, because I think this kind of shade would look really tacky and garish on longer tips! I love this color regardless though, it makes me feel all hyped up for summer!

I got this color in my first Julep Maven box. It only cost me one cent for 3 polishes, because there was an awesome promotion going on! I had the impression that this polish was a dupe of China Glaze Peachy Keen, but you can see from the bottle picture above that it's more yellow toned than Peachy Keen.

Fours on Feet

Air Jordan IV GS
Ultraviolet

It's been a minute since I've done a sneaker shoot, but I managed to find some time to get a couple in--hooray hooray! First one up is my recent Jordan 4 pick-up, as requested by Anonymous.

A lot of high tops can hit at unflattering points (not that I care), but I like how it looks like I actually have ankles in these (:
